    It sold for 30 million plus 4 million dollars charges by Sotheby’s for buyer’s premium.

    Bidding went to 30 million, not 34. So much good could have been done with ALL the money spent on this rug. And Sotheby’s could have spent more on their chairs. Steel folding chairs? Swanky! The people clapping after the final bid should be BOOING instead. Why clap for some rich idiot because he can waste so much? I hope the phone bidder was a child who dialed the wrong number. Congrats “Winner” on one more THING you cannot take with you in the end. Disgusting.
