1993 New York Carpet World Commercial (Red Dot Madness)

Another “dead chain” spot for New York Carpet World (a fairly prominent carpet store based in Rochester; which was fairly widespread at this point; and was a frequent advertiser at the time in the Hampton Roads region {remember seeing a lot of these as a kid running during airings of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!}). Featured is their Red Dot Madness sale; in which all carpets with red dot tags could net a 25% savings on their rugs (already reduced by 40%-60% off their regular price). This was a common sales gimmick from what I remember. The chain was eventually purchased by Shaw Industries during the late 1990s (according to a comment on a 1995 spot airing in North Carolina) and disappeared sometime around 2000.
