Create a New Style with Large Area rugs

Article by Max King

When you want to change the style of your home, it is always wise to consider those seemingly less noticeable items that you take for granted. Draperies and floor coverings are often overlooked, but can be the most important features or accessories in creating a new look. For those who want a more dramatic change, replacing carpet with hard wood or manufactured wood can brighten up a dull space.

Changing draperies is one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to change to decor in your home. Many new styles and different types of rods let you be as creative as you want. You can layer the look by selecting heavier panels to coordinate with sheer panels. The new double rods let you pair many different combinations. Simple window scarves make adding a new layer very easy. Tap top curtains provide a more contemporary look, if you want a more modern look.

When the walls and upper parts of the room are change, it will often be necessary to add new floor coverings. Large area rugs come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They can be coordinated with furniture and draperies, or be selected in a contrasting shade, for a more bold statement. Round and square shapes are less commonly used, but can add some interest to the floors of your home.

If you are considering something a bit more dramatic and want to remove carpeting, teak flooring can be a great option. It is durable and provides a beautiful richness to any space. Other options include bamboo and other hard woods. If the budget does not allow for this, the laminate manufactured planks that look like hard wood are a durable and more cost effective option. They will still look god and are very easy to maintain. Cleaning will be much simpler than with carpet and you can add smaller carpets wherever you need extra protection or warmth.
