Awesome shoes; Please make 1/2 sizes, May 2, 2012
    Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?)

I’ve been eyeing Fly London shoes on Amazon for a while & finally bought these in the Camel/Petrol/Brown. They arrived today & are exactly as pictured, except for the color which I’ll explain soon. For the most part I love these shoes. I SO wanted to love them without reservation but the sizing is off. They need to make 1/2 sizes and get their US equivalents straight(more on that at the end).

The shoes are beautifully constructed. The leather is soft inside and out, the soles are stable and Sooooo comfy. Just the right height. I’m 5’2″ and don’t like the look of towering heels or wedges. They make it look like I’m trying too hard to be tall and I’m just NOT…lol! Fly London’s Yings add 2+ inches and look effortless. With them on, I feel like I’m flying. They’re more fun than barefoot! You can’t really see the Yings’ ankle straps if you’re wearing the shoe with pants, until you sit down and they show. They’re a very flattering part of the shoe.

As for the color: Online, petrol looks dark gray to black. Petrol it turns out, is a shade of green. Green was unexpected but I rather like the added pop of color, since I planned to wear the shoes in the summer. Petrol doesn’t scream “green”, but it is not gray or black.

A comment on sizing. I wish FL made 1/2 sizes. I am a true 5&1/2 and ordered the 36 which says it is equivalent to a US size 5. It isn’t. A 36 is a 36. These would fit a size 6 foot very well. Euro 36 is Fly London’s smallest size & now that I have tried the Yings, I wouldn’t order FL’s that doesn’t have a strap or a back, because my foot would slip right out. Where it gives the US equivalent for Fly London’s Euro sizes, add 1 to the US size. The 36’s are definitely NOT 5’s. Or 5&1/2’s. They are US 6’s, and a little large even at that. I wear size 36 in Danskos and Pikolinos, closed back or open. But the high back of the too-large 36 Yings slip and rub against the back of my 5& 1/2 feet. So, sadly these very cute shoes are going back.

I tried on this shoe just today and totally love them.. so comfy, and very stable. Do not feel at all like heels. The previous reviewer noted that her shoes were too big + that the sizing is wrong, but I actually made a note of the sizing while I was trying them, and I wear a 7 1/2 to 8. The 39 fit absolutely perfectly and were even on the snug side.
