@DannysCam ahhh i see. i’ll prolly do like you and use normal carpet lol. just a corvair so im not going to spend a lot of money in it.

  11. DannysCam on Sun, 20th Nov 2011 7:03 pm

@killertctma this is america you can do what you want. the carpet that is made for cars is often molded to fit the floor pans so you will get a tighter fit with carpet you buy for cars

  22. DannysCam on Sun, 20th Nov 2011 9:37 pm

@mrbuster1964 i don’t really drive that truck much any more.. i think it has a blown head gasket it keeps stalling in trafic and its getting very bad gas milage.. i would love rebuild it some time i might

  23. mrbuster1964 on Sun, 20th Nov 2011 10:16 pm

@DannysCam Well live and learn!!! So on the next one you get some HEAVY NON-DETERIORATING PLASTIC (I think garden stores, Home Depot might have it) that you can spread out UNDER the carpet. Then tack it at some points with the glue and see if that’ll work. At least it should protect the sheet metal underneath.

  24. DannysCam on Sun, 20th Nov 2011 10:41 pm

@mrbuster1964 yeah that would be a good idea… sadly i have a leak and the carpet molded up

  25. mrbuster1964 on Sun, 20th Nov 2011 11:05 pm

It would be a good idea to protect the underlying sheet metal with a plasitc barrier, no? In case of spilt liquids or rain & snow etc…
