If you spray the carpet LIGHTLY with a mist of water and then place a plastic garbage bag over the wet and wrinkled area and weigh it down over night, that should press out any wrinkles in the rug.

Just be absolutely sure to remove the plastic bag over the carpet in the morning as you do not want to cause any sort of moisture problem as you need to leave the rug there, flat, to dry.

If that does not work, you may need to use steam. Put your iron on the lowest temperature setting that will still allow steam. Fill the water reservoir and allow the water to heat up. Then, place the iron an inch or two over the rug and press the burst of steam button on the iron to release the wrinkles in the rug but do NOT iron the rug or allow the iron to touch the rug. Allow the rug to completely dry.

Either one of these two methods can be used as I have tried both, successfully. I do not know which will work for your carpet because I am unaware of the fabric content of your rug.

Hang the rug up if you can and spray it with water and see if you can work the wrinkles out by pulling of them. Good Luck

If the rugs are wrinkled, then just dampening the rugs slightly, putting heavy objects on them, and then walking on them for a few days when they are dried should solve this problem. If the rug has actually been stretched and as a result is wrinkled, you will need to have your rug professionally blocked (a process where the rug is slowly stretched while wet in order to regain its shape).
