  • Made of recycled polypropylene which is a plastic like material.
  • Reversible, waterproof and washable. Water goes thru and evaporates.
  • Mildew proof. Will not rot wooden decks.
  • Wonderful color.

The Philadelphia School of Art designers who make this line of decorative outdoor rugs or kitchen mats thought of everything. The design on this decorative rug is the perfect marriage of functionality and decorative design. I love the colors of this rug – they are much more vibrant than they appear in the online photo. Also, you can’t tell from the photo, but it is made of recycled plastic fibers, which are a lot like long, slender drinking straws, woven together. If you haven’t seen this type of outdoor rug before it can be a bit of a surprise – it’s very lightweight and even a little shiny.

I wouldn’t recommend it for indoor use – it’s quite clearly a plastic mat. If you put it on a hardwood floor without a pad underneath, I bet it would slide around a lot.

Overall, this is a great and very affordable outdoor rug – perfect for a small space, especially if you want to add a splash of color, but be forewarned, it needs to be weighed down or it will blow away, and it’s not the most durable material. If you’re planning to set it under a table and have chairs scraping back and forth over it, it will probably start to shred and unravel within a year’s time. I used to have a very similar outdoor rug made of this same material and it was remarkably quick to dry, the colors didn’t fade, it was easy to clean and easy to store…but it only lasted one season before it started to fall apart.
