Question by elizabethtmai: how do i find the value of an antique persian rug? google was no help!?
this is a very large rug,10′ x 8′ rectangle, reddish browns,and golds, some of the darker designs have been worn down ,it has no tags or any kind of signature. what is my first in finding out what it is worth?

Take it to any antique shop for an estimate. It may not be worth much ($ 300 or so).

    You would have to find an expert on Persian rugs. Try an auction house that deals in antiques, they may have one on staff. I wouldn’t get my hopes up though, sometimes an old rug is just that, an old carpet.

    Try couple of Persian rugs dealers. Some buy antique rugs . Good luck.
