I shampooed my large area rug the other day, after about 12 hours I started smelling this horrible cat pee smell coming from it! Now its a farely new rug and Ive never owned a cat! I shampooed it and opened all the windows and put the fan on full blast, but it smells awful! Ive never had this happen

Is the rug sitting on carpet? Moisture from the rug may have seeped down into the carpet and pad and brought an old pet stain back up. If it is sitting on a wood floor, then I have no idea!
